Based on the clues and comments gathered under the post, the Chinese site believes the reference is to OPPO. It should be emphasized that this is a rumor not confirmed by the company, which does not appear directly in the leaker's communication.
What would change in phones
IT之家 recalls previous statements by the same leaker: OPPO's 6.35-inch line in a wide rectangular format would debut in 2027 with a high-end model, followed by lighter versions designed for photography. The device would have a 16:9 screen with 2560x1440 resolution, very thin bezels thanks to the LIPO design, with edges estimated at around 1 mm, a body width of about 81 mm, a flagship MediaTek chip in testing, and an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor. These are features reported as coming from prototypes: no data has been made official.
The novelty is not a single component but the choice of format: a 16:9 aspect ratio wider than current standards can change the user experience, although the material does not clarify how AI would be integrated or which functions would be exclusive.
The "Fuyao" gimbal camera and the comparison
Also according to the leaker, the imaging area will have a new product, a gimbal camera codenamed "Fuyao," whose unveiling would be imminent and which would enjoy strong internal confidence. IT之家 also recalls June rumors according to which pocket gimbal cameras from OPPO and vivo would adopt a 200 MP main sensor with a 1/1.12" format, with possible Hasselblad or Zeiss co-branding, high-end chips, and ecosystem integration for shooting, editing, and sharing images. The same article cites, for Honor, a Robot Phone with a foldable gimbal arm, a 200 MP 4DoF gimbal sensor, an on-device AI model, and collaboration with Arri.
The comparison suggests a sector in which several Chinese manufacturers are exploring hybrid forms between smartphones and action cameras: however, the available information all comes from unofficial sources and does not allow timing, prices, or availability to be determined.
What remains to be verified
It is not confirmed that the manufacturer cited by the leaker is OPPO, nor that the 2027 plan has already been defined. Still to be verified are the technical specifications of the prototypes, the existence and launch date of the "Fuyao" camera, the photography partnerships, and the actual role of AI.
