The debut and positioning
According to a report by IT之家, which cites the automotive media outlet Yiche, the new Jetour Freedom 7 will be launched on the market on November 4. The model, produced by the Jetour brand under the Chery group, is positioned in the compact SUV segment with squared-off shapes, a styling trend described as 'boxy' and associated with light off-road use. The dimensions declared by the company are 4,651 mm in length, 1,967 mm in width and 1,840 mm in height.
The launch aims to combine two elements: leisure-vehicle aesthetics and a strong technological component on board. This is the main novelty compared with the brand's tradition, which until now had not associated such an explicit artificial intelligence package with its compact models in official communications.
The intelligent cabin: DeepSeek and iFlytek Spark
The technological heart of the Freedom 7 is the system called Lingxi Smart Cabin TOUR OS. According to the official presentation cited by the source, the cabin integrates an AI-based voice model that combines two engines: DeepSeek and iFlytek Spark. The choice signals an intention to entrust user interactions to a multi-model architecture, with the stated goal of improving natural language understanding.
On the hardware side, the vehicle is equipped with a 2.5K high-resolution screen and a Qualcomm 8155 chip, a solution already widespread in the automotive sector for infotainment management. The car also includes the APA automatic parking function in all scenarios, designed to facilitate maneuvers in tight spaces. At the time of launch, it remains to be verified which versions include these features as standard and whether the AI assistant requires a subscription or a subsequent software update.
The adoption of DeepSeek within a car system represents an extension of the Chinese AI model from the software sector to that of connected vehicles, an area in which competition among language model providers is growing.
Engine and transmission
Under the hood, the Freedom 7 has a 1.5T inline-four gasoline engine producing 184 horsepower, with maximum power of 135 kW. Transmission is handled by a 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox, while the declared top speed is 170 km/h.
The available information concerns only this powertrain: it does not indicate whether hybrid or electric versions are planned, nor does it provide list prices. The source does not report data on fuel consumption, range or charging times, details that will presumably be communicated at the official launch on November 4.
The combination of a traditional powertrain with a heavily digitalized cabin reflects a strategy widespread among Chinese manufacturers: keeping the entry price accessible through the mechanicals, while focusing on technology as a perceived differentiator.
